Performing Arts Building (1920)

Photograph of Performing Arts Building. There was a cooperative agreement between the Army and the University to house military personnel during the WWI.6 p.19 As a result, in early 1918, as the building was under construction, this building was tented over and used as temporary housing.6 p.19 Although used as housing, it was intended to be the Cafeteria after the war.6 p.19 In 1931 the building was converted from the cafeteria to the Geology Building and probably remained so until it was remodeled in 1982 to house Dance, Ballet and Theater.29, 30, 31 10-6-31 p.1 It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
