Geoscience Services (1917)
Designed by Don Carlos Young, Jr. and campus architect Ramm Hansen, this was built as a concrete garage by the concrete class.5, 32 The 1936 addition on the east and the second story were funded in part by the WPA and designed by Wooley and Evans.22, 32 At the time of this remodel, the original concrete was bricked over. By 1948 it was Stores & Receiving on the east half and a garage on the west half. It was the Material Science Laboratory by 1985.10, 18, 29 It was renamed the Geoscience Services Building in 1988 from being the Materials Science Building.4, 8, 28
