Office Building #44 (1945)
This building and buildings 042 & 043 were the only three permanent structures erected on campus in the 1940s. With Ware and McClanahan, architects as the designers and A.B. Paulson as the contractor, Building 044 was built as the Student Health Service Building in 1945 using federal grant money and money through the Federal Works Agency.22, 32 Ground was broken on August 30, 1944. The building was designed to care for students too ill to stay in their "lodgings" but not ill enough for hospitalization. It is the only building on campus planned and completed during WWII.6 p.154 It was Student Health through at least 1989.29, 4, 18
