Development Offices Building (1942)

Photograph of Development Offices Building. This structure was used for storage at Dugway Proving Grounds, was moved to the University of Utah in 1946, and moved to its current location in late 1947.5 We believe that the asbestos siding is original to the building. The original intent for the building by the University of Utah was as a Herbarium for the Department of Biology.5 The building was furnished and moved by the Federal Works Agency (FWA) and the University provided the foundation and money for alterations.31 11-12-47 Prior to 1971 it was being used by Research Park administration and by the Industrial Services Division.25 Then, in 1973, when the Research Park Offices moved out, it was assigned to Legal Council with Space Planning and Management (then called Facilities Administration) and remained so until at least 1985. 4, 18 The building was renamed Honors in 1988 and became the Development Offices Building in 1996.
