Biology Shop/Theater Storage (1942)

Photograph of 	Biology Shop/Theater Storage. Originally this structure was used by the Army as a 63 men barrack. This was one of the support buildings for the Separation Center as discussed in the overview. Acquired by the University of Utah in 1947, this building was was moved in 1949 from the NW corner of "The Church Triangle," south of the Jon Huntsman Special Events Center and then remodeled to be used as a gym for the Stewart School (Building 006).4, 7, 32 It was moved approximately 22 feet eastward in 1958 to its current location, south of Building 007, to make room for the Pioneer Theater.3 It was still being used by the Stewart School as late as 1970, and in July of 1973 it was renamed Biology Shop/Theater Storage, although other records indicate that it was not assigned to the Theater Department until 1978.4, 18, 25
