The asbestos siding is most likely original to the building. Designed by the U.S. Engineering Office, this was originally a warehouse for the army.7, 32 In 1947 it was deeded to the National Guard, acquired by the University of Utah in 1968, and was Custodial and Engineering in 1985.4, 10, 11, 18 There was a smooth transition between owners of this building because it has been used for essentially the same purpose by each institution.
