School of Radiological Technology (1941) Acquired by the University of Utah in 1947, this building was originally a barrack for 63 men for the Army and one of the support buildings for the Reception Center as discussed in the overview.4, 7 In 1950 it housed the Department of Journalism.10 In 1959, as it became vacant, it was moved from the NE corner of "The Church Triangle," south of the Jon Huntsman Special Events Center,.7, 29 In 1961 it housed the US Coast and Geodetic Survey. The building name was changed to Family and Community Medicine in 1976 and remained so until at least 1985.18, 26
