Storage Building #515 (1902)

Photograph of Storage Building #515. This was a hospital storehouse for the Army in 1946 and was acquired by the University of Utah in 1948.4, 7 Although no definitive records could be located, it is likely that this building was used for storage from 1948 to 1958; it is known that in 1959 it was used for storage.29 In 1976 the name was changed to Stores and Receiving Storage. For a period of time after 1982, much of the material stored in the building was hazardous waste from the College of Mines and Mineral Industries.25 In both 1985 and 1987 its use was listed as storage.18, 26 There was a smooth transition between owners of this building because it has been used for essentially the same purpose by each institution. Due to the absence of information to the contrary, it appears that this building has always been used as a storage facility. There is a well preserved stone retaining wall on the site which contributes to the integrity of the building.
