CVMB Research (1943) Originally a barrack for the Army, this structure was acquired by the University of Utah in 1948.4, 17 Owing to the fact that every possible inch of space available, including old latrines, was used as research facilities, and because of the lack of information to the contrary, it is believed that the original University use of this building was for research.13 In 1960 this building was assigned to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and by 1985 was used for research by the Microbiology Department.4, 16, 18
