Mark Curtis of CSI is heading the competition. The competition is open to students of architecture, planning, structural and civil engineering, interiors, and construction management, and will be between students from each Utah university (it's also FREE!). He also assured me that the competitions in years past have worked great with the mixture of students, even with planning students who feel they don't have much design background. This is the first combined student competition where all students will utilize their skills to compete against one another.

2007 FIRST ANNUAL CSI STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION
TO BE HELD OCTOBER 20TH, 2007
AT TROLLEY SQUARE (7TH EAST AND 5TH SOUTH)

There are no registration fees for this contest.
Faxed or e-mailed applications only must be received no later than 4:00pm, Monday, October 15, 2007.
Participants are accepted for the competition on a first applied, first received basis.
Registration on site begins at 7:00am, Saturday, October 20th, 2007,
Competition begins at 8:30am and continues until 4:00pm.
Participants must remain on site for the duration of the competition.

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS:

This competition is limited to 60 total participants.

The CSI Student Competition Team reserves the right to base application
approvals on total numbers of students for each discipline and previous
participation in order to maintain a diverse team composition. The design
/ presentation drawings from each team shall remain the property of CSI for
advertising purposes. The drawings will be photographed and digital copies
of all boards will be given to the colleges / universities / students that
have participated, and requested copies.

Schedule of events:
8:00am to 8:30am Registration / Team Organization
8:30am to 9:00am Criteria presentation, questions and answers
9:00am to 10:00am Caucus, Design Development / Drawings
(Remember to leave sufficient time to produce the final product.)
10:00am to 12:30pm Construction of projects (announced that day)
12:30pm to 1:00pm Lunch will be provided.
(This may be a working lunch if the team desires.)
1:00pm to 2:30pm Construction of projects (announced that day)
2:30pm to 4:00 pm Team Presentations, Judging of designs, De-Briefing,
comments, evaluation
